Linus Torvalds çekirdeğin 2.6.8 versiyonunu NFS'teki yazma problemine rağmen yayımladı , hemen akabinde de 2.6.8.1 diye bir versiyon ile NFS'teki problemin giderilmiş halini yayımladı. Yeni versiyonlama sisteminide aşağıdaki e-posta ile duyurdu.


Well, we've been discussing the 2.6.x.y format for a while, so I see this as an opportunity to actually do it... Will it break automated scripts? Maybe. But on the other hand, we'll never even find out unless we try it some time.

i copied development-sources-2.6.8.ebuild to my overlay and named it development-sources-2.6.8.1.ebuild
